Assembly Analytical System

Assembly analytical system is a BIS software product, meant for distributed bank regulatory and management reporting and for the finance indicators analysis. Assembly can be used for arbitrary indicators collection, consolidation, storage, provision and analysis for the bank or enterprise network entities including various activity profiles companies (of any organizational structure?). Assembly adds a user-friendly GUI to BISQUIT powerful processing functionality.

Assembly supports all the «Financial reporting and analysis» BISQUIT module functions including BISQUIT regulatory reports generation. The analytical system offers wide service possibilities for the analytical departments and the management. It provides flexible and intuitive access to the report information and the possibility to obtain arbitrary data views and selections based on multidimensional OLAP model. It creates presentable reports of a typeset quality.

The advanced graphical user interface allows to select the data of any type promptly and to present it as a spreadsheet, a diagram or a report for printing as well as to export the data to other Windows applications.

The system is implemented in a three-tier architecture using OpenEdge 10 application server and .NET thin client. A live BISQUIT database as well as a data warehouse based on BISQUIT can be used as a data source.

The system has a comprehensive access protection.

Assembly Analytical System Functional Possibilities

The analytical system provides the following:

  • Reporting and analytics based on BISQUIT data basis as well as based on other data sources;
  • Generating and running Crystal Reports.
  • Microsoft Office integration.
  • Report and data export to the Microsoft Office Word, Excel, HTML, TXT, PDF etc.
  • Workflow systems Integration (publication, mailing etc.).
  • User action logging.

The data for the analysis can be extracted from the transactional database or from a data warehouse –Assembly analytical system can be integrated with a transactional system to the extent of physical unification of the databases. The data can be also extracted in manual mode as well as imported from standard format files.

System Operation

Assembly has an intuitive and convenient multiwindow user interface.

The user may define a number of stored indicators (indicators may be of any data type supported by OpenEdge DBMS), processing and presentation rules. Embedded report generator allows reports preparation based on stored indicators.

Data Model

A variation of a multi-dimensional data model is implemented in the Assembly. This data model is typical for the OLAP-systems for the indicators storage.

Assembly comprises a concept of «data class», it consolidates the indicators defined on the same dimensions and having a close economic meaning. For example in the «Balance Sheet by Currency» data class the following indicators are consolidated: «Opening balance», «Debit turnover», «Credit turnover» and «Closing balance» defined on the «2-nd level account» and «Currency» dimensions.

Unlike widely-spread hypercubuc and polycubic models the Assembly uses the hybrid model of «embedded hypercubes» where «global» dimensions which are common for all data classes (such as «Organizational Structure Entity» or «Time period») are rigidly fixed and additional «local» dimensions can be defined separately for each data class.

The unique data model and data processing tools allow comprehensive analytical techniques usage and regulatory reports preparation.


The Assembly is a distributed analytical system. All system data analysis functions and reporting within the entity can be applied for each distributed organizational structure remote entity. The data input into the system can be consolidated both for entities (e.g. defining bank overall balance) and periods (e.g. making annual accounting report based on four quarterly ones).

Banking indicators collection, regulation base status and report templates are automatically synchronized at all points of the bank distributed informational system due to metadata replication mechanism from HQ to remote entities.
